West Indies Women defeated Pakistan Women in squeezing out a narrow one run victory in the first of five T20 Internationals in Karachi on Friday.
The West Indies Women were first restricted to 122-9 after electing to bat. Qiana Jospeh top-scored with 34, while Jamaica's Stafanie Taylor made 30. Fellow Jamaicans Chinelle Henry and Chedean Nation made 13 each.
Fatima Sana took 3-24 for the Pakistanis.
Chasing 122 for victory Pakistan Women brought the match down to the final over the of the match where they needed 11 runs to win.
With 2 runs needed of the last ball of the contest, the Pakistanis came up short at 121-8. Captain Nida Dar top scored with 27, while Sidra Ameen made 23. Karishma Ramharack ended with 4-15 including three wickets in the 17th over.
The second T20 International will be played on Sunday also in Karachi. The Windies Women swept the ODI series 3-0.
