BET is planning to make a Bobby Brown going solo movie, as he did in real life after he separated from the group New Edition in 1985.
The movie will star Woody McClain, who will reprise his role as Bobby Brown after starring in The New Edition Story released in January.
BET had scored record ratings in January with its debut of The New Edition Story, after 4.4 million total viewers tuned in to the three-part installment.
It dominated social media with BET being ranked the number one social television network on premier night, and top 20 trending topics on Twitter.
The New Edition Story followed the members starting from their childhood upbringing in Boston.
The Bobby Brown Story will reportedly pick up where New Edition Story left off and will focus on Brown's own career after he became a solo act in 1986.
Casting for key roles including Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina, Teddy Riley, L.A. Reid and Babyface is still underway, with the biopic set to release in fall 2018.
