Jamaican actor Anthony 'Billy' Wilmot known for his role as 'CeCe' in the Jamaican drama, Royal Palm Estate, lost his home in a fire on Wednesday in Nine Miles, Bull Bay.
Authorities say the blaze was reportedly started by children in the house who were playing with fire.
Among the historic artifacts that went up in flames were a letter from the last colonial governor, old photographs, letters signed by Michael Manley, and an original painting by Ras Daniel Hartman, called Generation Untold, 1969.
Wilmot said loss is estimated at $40 million.
Wilmot, who is also president of the Jamaica Surfing Association, was able to save his surfboards.
