Jussie Smollett
Chicago police say they will soon release images of "persons of interest" in the assault of Empire actor Jussie Smollett.
The two men who attacked him, yelled racial and homophobic slurs and wrapped a rope around his neck.
The 36 year-old African-American actor, who is gay, was not seriously hurt in the incident, which police are treating as a possible hate crime.
Investigators are testing the chemical Smollett was doused with and have yet to confirm the nature of the substance.
