Festival of the Performing Arts reaches parish finals

The National Festival of the Performing Arts continues its 2019 cycle with the parish finals round, which will continue in all parishes.
The competition is a highlight of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's (JCDC) annual calendar.
The competition continues to unearth, develop, showcase, preserve and promote the creative talents and expressions of the Jamaican people through the five performing arts subject areas of Dance, Drama, Music, Speech and the Traditional Folk Forms.
Participants from schools, community groups, youth clubs, social clubs, performing arts clubs, churches, as well as outstanding individual performers will compete for top parish honours, as well as a chance to move on to the national finals of the competition.
The parish finals round begins on Monday.
