Grey's Anatomy has eclipsed ER as the longest-running medical drama on television.
The ABC series gained the title after airing its 332nd episode on Thursday.
ER ran from 1994 to 2009 and aired 331 episodes.
Grey's Anatomy which first aired in 2005 is now in its 15th season.
In 2017, the show's creator Shonda Rhimes said the show will end once star Ellen Pompeo decides to leave.
