Jordan Peele's critically acclaimed horror movie Us did terrifyingly well at the US box office, grossing $67 million over the weekend.
That would mark one of the best starts ever for a horror title behind It which earned $123.4 million.
It is also the best opening ever for an original horror pic that is not a sequel.
The R-rated flick is from Universal and Peele's Monkeypaw Productions.
Us, starring Lupita Nyong'o is the second feature Peele has helmed after Get Out, the 2017 horror film that turned into a cultural sensation and a commentary on race relations.
