A Care2 petition urging Adidas to cut ties with rapper Kanye West has secured more than 27,000 signatures.
The petition was launched after videos surfaced online of Kanye's pro-Trump speech during his Saturday Night Live performance, followed by a Twitter rant calling for the 13th amendment to be abolished.
The petition makes reference to a slew of controversial comments made by the rapper, noting in particular his comment back in May that slavery was a choice.
The petitioners say Adidas should not stand idly by and, effectively, condone his behaviour.
Adidas partnered with West to produce the Yeezy apparel.
While some reports claim that the brand is valued at $1.5 billion, Adidas' CEO said the brand is a small part of the company.
