Prince Buster to be buried on Saturday

The funeral service for the legendary Prince Buster will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., at the Islamic Council of Jamaica.   
     
The event will be hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport.
     
Following the service will be a special tribute to the ska icon at the same venue at 4:00 p.m.  
     
Among the performers are Ernie Smith, Ken Booth, Derrick Morgan, StrangeJah Cole, Mystic Revelation of Rastafari, as well as Lloyd Parks and We the People band.
     
Instead of flowers, contributions will be accepted in support of the Jamaica Association of Vintage Artistes and Affiliates.  
     
Prince Buster, born Cecil Bustamante Campbell, died on Thursday, September 8, in Miami, Florida at the age of 78.
     
Prince Buster will be interred at the May Pen Cemetery.     
 
Meanwhile, well wishers are being advised to adhere to the dress code for the funeral service.
     
Men should wear shirt and trousers, while women should wear an ankle length skirt, which should not be tight or transparent, along with a long sleeved and high-necked top and a headscarf.  
     
Additionally, all persons entering the mosque are required to remove their shoes.
