A public memorial for basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi has been set for Monday, February 24 at Staples Center.
The date is significant as #24 was Kobe's jersey number and Gigi wore number 2.
Event organizers had been discussing a venue for days going back and forth between Staples and The Coliseum over concerns about the size of the crowd.
The Staples, where Kobe played for most of his 20-year NBA career, only holds about 20,000 people.
The Coliseum in Downtown L.A. holds closer to 80,000.
Several high profile guests are expected to pay their final respects, however organizers are still fine tuning the details.
Kobe and Gigi died in a helicopter crash on January 26 in Calabasas, California, along with seven others.
