Regé-Jean Page declines contract to appear in season 2 of "Bridgerton"

Regé-Jean Page who emerged as a fan favourite on record-breaking Netflix series Bridgerton, reportedly refused a paycheck of $50,000 per episode for a few brief cameos in season two.

The Duke of Hastings was asked to guest star on three to five episodes, however he declined.

Fans were left heartbroken when Page revealed his departure last week, adding that he had committed to the project on a short term basis.

Had he accepted, his character would take the backseat as the sophomore series focuses on Anthony Bridgerton, the second of five Bridgerton siblings.

Page's film career has taken off following the show's success and he has already secured roles in major projects like Netflix's The Gray Man and Paramount's Dungeons & Dragons.
