Shonda Rhimes continues to break barriers, this time becoming the third black woman inducted into the Television Hall of Fame.
Rhimes joins the ranks of Oprah Winfrey and Diahann Carroll, who were inducted in 1993 and 2011, respectively.
The induction ceremony will take place on November 15.
Other inductees include the original cast of Saturday Night Live and Joan Rivers.
Rhimes and her production company, Shondaland, have been behind television hits Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder, and Private Practice.
