St. Catherine's Khamara Wright is 2019 Festival Queen

St. Catherine native Khamara Wright is the new Miss Jamaica Festival Queen. 
The Grand Coronation was held Thursday night at the National Arena, where second place went to Miss Kingston and St. Andrew, AnnaKay Hudson, and third place to Miss St. James, Chardonnae Parkins. 
The sectional prizes for Most Active in the Community and Most Culturally Aware also went to AnnaKay Hudson of Kingston and St. Andrew.
St. Ann's Chantalle Bryan was awarded Most Congenial, while Most Poised went to Dru-Lissa Grant of St. Thomas, Most Popular on Social Media was Clarendon's Alecia Byfield and the night's Best Performance came from Reneise Johnson of Hanover.
Up next is the Gospel Song competition, scheduled for this Sunday.
The events are part of the Independence celebration with this year's theme being One Nation, One People.
