St. Mary's Ackera Gowie was crowned the winner of the JCDC Festival Queen Competition which was held Wednesday night at the National Arena.
Gowie also won the sectional prizes for Most Poised and Most Culturally Aware.
First runner-up went to Shantae Grant of Hanover and second runner-up, Chris-Ann Douglas from St. James, who was also voted Most Congenial.
Leneka Rhoden from Kingston and St. Andrew won Most Active in the Community. Miss Clarendon, Kimone Rose, was voted Most Popular on Social Media, and Best Performance went to Jessica Hartley of Portland.
Additional entertainment came from Festival song winner Nazzleman and reggae singer Etana.
This year's 56th Independence celebrations are being held under the theme, One Love, One Family.
