Supporters of rapper Meek Mill plan protest against his prison sentence

Supporters of jailed rapper Meek Mill plan to take to the streets on Monday in front of Philadelphia's Criminal Justice Center to protest a judge's sentence in the MC's probation violation case.

A poster for the event says the criminal justice system has failed Meek Mill and millions of others like him.

The event, scheduled for 5 p.m., features the now familiar hashtags #justice4meek and #freemeekmill.

The sentence has drawn a flood of outrage from supporters and many in the hip-hop community, who feel the punishment is above and beyond what the MC deserved in the case.

Born Robert Williams, Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years in prison for violating his probation in a 2008 gun and drugs case.
