Taylor Swift surpasses Whitney Houston as female artiste with most AMAs

Taylor Swift dominated the 2018 American Music Awards by winning four trophies, including artist of the year, making her the ceremony's most-decorated female artiste ever.
 
She now holds 23 AMAs, beating a record previously held by Whitney Houston.
 
Camila Cabello also won four awards at the ceremony.
 
Swift opened the show with a a fiery performance of I Did Something Bad, while British singers Ella Mai and Dua Lipa also gave memorable performances.
 
Rapper XXXTentacion, who was shot dead in June, was a pothumous winner in the best soul and R&B album category.
 
Cardi B who led the female nominees won three awards, however Drake, who led the male nominees with eight, went home empty handed. 
 
Legendary singer Aretha Franklin, who died of pancreatic cancer in August, was honoured with a gospel tribute that closed the show.
