The 10th anniversary of the Youth View Awards (YVAs), held on Saturday, saw incarcerated dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel receiving five awards from his eight nominations in seven categories.
He topped his competitors in the categories of Favourite Local Male Artiste, Hottest Summer Song, Favourite Local Chart-Topping Song for Fever, Favourite Dancehall Artiste and shared Favourite Musical Collaboration with Shenseea for Loodi.
Shenseea received two trophies for Breakout Celebrity of the Year as well as Young Hot and Hype Female.
Reigning dancehall badboy Alkaline, who led with10 nominations, walked away with only two trophies for Young Hot and Hype Male and shared the glory for Favourite Local Music Video category for the single City.
Disc jock Creep Chromatic also won two for Favourite Party Selector and Favourite Sound System.
Self proclaimed King of the Dancehall Beenie Man was honoured with the YVA Icon award for his contribution to the music industry.
Other winners include Usain Bolt for Celebrity Role Model, Favourite Local TV Show was Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall and Favourite Artiste Female was Spice.
Among the performers were Freddie McGregor, D Major, Romain Virgo, Chozenn, Shenseea, Kevin Downswell and Rondell Positive.
