Barbados won't to return to glory days of sugar industry, says Central Bank governor

The Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Cleviston Haynes, has said the island will not return to the glory days of the sugar industry as the government looks to diversify the local economy.
Mr. Haynes, told a news conference on Friday that Barbados would now have to look at getting something other than sugar from the industry and decide whether production would be solely for domestic purposes.
He said what is needed is diversification of the economy by identifying other industries that can complement sugar production and international business services.
