CAC urges consumers to protect themselves from cybercrime

The Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) is advising individuals and businesses to exercise due diligence to reduce the likelihood of being affected by cybercrime.
 
Speaking at a recent Jamaica Information Service (JIS) Think Tank, Andrew Evelyn, CAC Information Technology Manager, explained that ransomware is one element of cybercrime that impacts local consumers.
 
Mr. Evelyn recommended that users contact a local information technology specialist if they encounter incidents of fraud while using their device.
