Regional carrier, Caribbean Airlines (CAL) is looking to forge an alliance with Air China.
This stems from meetings held by the airline's chairman, Ronnie Mohammed, who is currently in China as part of a delegation being led by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley of Trinidad and Tobago.
During talks with senior officials of Air China, Mohammed explored the possibility of code sharing and interlining opportunities between Caribbean Airlines and Air China.
The airline is China's sole flag carrier.
It serves 185 destinations including Havana, Cuba and John F. Kennedy, New York, which are serviced by Caribbean Airlines.
Meanwhile, the Trinidadian delegation also met with the HNA Group which owns more than 1,200 aircraft, and is a major shareholder in international hotel chains.
It is also the largest tour operating company in China.
The HNA Group has been invited to establish code sharing and interline arrangements with Caribbean Airlines, through its many international airline and tourism industry affiliates.
