Canada, US continue NAFTA talks

Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland returned to Washington Tuesday for talks aimed at rescuing the North American Free Trade Agreement as an October 1 deadline draws near.
After more than a year of negotiations, Canada and the United States are still trying to resolve bilateral differences over the NAFTA accord, that also includes Mexico.
U.S. President Donald Trump, who has said he is prepared to tear up NAFTA, has struck a bilateral trade deal with Mexico and threatened to push ahead without Canada.
U.S. officials have said time is running out to agree on a text that can be signed by American, Canadian and Mexican leaders by November 30, before the current Mexican government leaves office.
