Conflicting signals about bauxite levy, says Opposition

The opposition People's National Party (PNP) has tabled questions in the House of  Representatives regarding the bauxite levy.

During his contribution to the Sectoral Debate on Tuesday, the PNP's spokesman on Mining, Phillip Paulwell, said there were conflicting signals about the Government’s policy on the bauxite levy for this fiscal year.

He said there is confusion whether the levy is being scrapped for five years.

The Minister of Finance has 21 days to respond to the Opposition's questions.
