The Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) will be moving its head office from Seaview Avenue in Kingston to a more central location.
CAC chairman, Lorna Green, said on Thursday that the move was part of efforts by the agency to improve the quality of service to its clients.
Discussions have reportedly started with the owners of a property that has been identified and the Industry, Investment & Commerce has approved plans for the relocation. Ms. Green said the agency will be making other improvements. These include increasing the use of technology, addressing telecommunications matters and business practices deemed impediments to consumers, as well as enhancing collaboration with partner agencies.
The CAC is also exploring initiatives to offset operational expenses, particularly research-related activities.
