Deadline extended to file Final Income Tax returns

The deadline to file Final Income Tax Returns for 2016 and Estimated Returns for 2017 has been extended until March 25.

Tax Administration Jamaica says the extension applies to business owners, self-employed persons, partnerships, companies as well as employed individuals with other sources of  income or multiple employment.

Taxpayers will be able to file before the extended deadline to avoid the $5000 monthly penalty charged for late returns.

TAJ says, with tax season drawing to a close, taxpayers should file and pay before the extended due date to avoid the last minute rush.
