Fiscal Policy Paper Interim Report tabled

Finance Minister Dr. Peter Phillips on Tuesday tabled the 2015/16 Fiscal Policy Paper Interim Report, during the sitting of  the Jamaican House of Representatives.

This is in keeping with the Financial Administration and Audit (Amendment) Act, which provides enhanced fiscal rules, requiring the Minister to table a Policy Paper within six months of  the financial year. It also requires the Minister to issue the Budget Call.

The document contains the economic and fiscal parameters, which will govern the preparation of  the Estimates of  Revenue and Expenditure for the succeeding financial year, and over the medium term. It outlines information on macro-economic developments covering the real sector, labour market, the monetary sector, inflation and the exchange rate, as well as the external sector.

Dr. Phillips said said the document will be extensively reviewed.
