Former IMF chief to Jamaica credits programme success to stakeholder commitment

Former International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Jamaica, Dr. Uma Ramakrishnan, has credited the success of the Economic Reform Programme (ERP) to the broad-based stakeholder ownership of the reforms and a commitment to seeing things improve.

Dr. Ramakrishnan was addressing journalists during a teleconference on Monday.

She said the outcomes of the IMF-endorsed programme have provided lessons for stakeholders at all levels of the society and foundations on which the country can build.

The ERP is the government's strategic plan of action to generate sustained economic growth and long-term development of Jamaica.
