Funds allocated for construction and renovation of several tax offices islandwide

A total of $161 million has been earmarked in the 2019/2020 Estimates of Expenditure to construct and renovate several tax offices islandwide.

The project, which commenced last September, involves the construction of tax offices in Cross Roads, St. Andrew and Portmore, St. Catherine, as well as the renovation and rehabilitation of collectorates in Christiana, Manchester, Brown's Town and St. Ann's Bay, St. Ann, and Montego Bay, St. James.

Land has been acquired for the new Cross Roads collectorate.
A similar acquisition is targeted for the Brown's Town tax office in 2019/20.

Additional allocations, totalling $1.85 billion are also programmed for the activities from 2020/21 through to 2022/23.
