Global Tourism Conference to be held in Montego Bay

The three-day United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Conference on 'Partnerships for Jobs and Inclusive Growth through Sustainable Tourism' is being hosted by the Government of Jamaica in partnership with the World Bank Group at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, starting next Monday.

Approximately 1,500 delegates are registered for the conference with representation from numerous countries around the globe.

In addition, Arnold Donald and Adam Goldstein, the world's leading cruise executives, will both be in attendance at the upcoming Global Tourism Conference.

Delano Seiveright, senior advisor and strategist in the Tourism Ministry, said recent heavy rains in sections of downtown Montego Bay will have no impact on the conference.
