Gov't rakes in revenue from telephone call tax

The Government is raking in more revenue from the telephone call tax.
During the April to December period, $2.7 billion was collected from the tax which was ahead of target by $1.1 billion.
According to the fiscal policy report which was tabled this week by Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke, receipts from the telephone call tax which have been trending down over the last four fiscal years, have recovered due in part to an increase in taxable call minutes.
