Growth seen in local construction industry in July-September quarter

The local construction grew during the July to September quarter.

According to the Bank of  Jamaica's quarterly monetary policy report, this performance was largely driven by the continued expansion and upgrade of  road infrastructure.

The estimated growth in the sector was partly offset by a decline in residential construction.

This was due to a reduction in housing starts by the National Housing Trust.
