IDB grants Jamaica US$50-million line of credit

Jamaica has received a US$50 million conditional line of credit from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
 
The funds will be used to help Jamaica promote innovation growth and entrepreneurship ecosystems. 
 
The Washington-based financial institution says US$25 million will be used to promote sustainable and robust growth among startups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Jamaica.
 
IDB country representative for Jamaica, Therese Turner-Jones, says the injection of  funds will help build Jamaica's entrepreneurial ecosystem, contribute to economic growth as well as improve the lives of Jamaicans.
