ILO concerned about workforce impact of Chikungunya

The impact of the Chikungunya virus on the work force in Jamaica and elsewhere in the region was discussed at the just concluded 18th American Regional Meeting of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Lima, Peru.

Caribbean labour officials said they are keeping a close eye on developments.

Oneil Grant, President of  the Jamaica Civil Service Association, described the situation in Jamaica is grave. He said an impact assessment is needed to measure the number of man-days lost.
