Jamaica, US bilateral investment and tax arrangements to be reviewed

The Government of Jamaica will be engaging in talks with the US Government, aimed at reshaping the bilateral investment and tax arrangements between the two countries.

This is aimed at attracting more US investors to Jamaica, according to Finance Minister Dr. Peter Phillips.

Dr. Phillips addressed members of  the US Chamber of  Commerce at a special meeting on Friday the Chamber's headquarters in Washington, D.C.

He said he was interested in hearing more from the US Chamber on ways to boost American investments in Jamaica. He also urged the Chamber to propose changes it would welcome within the present tax and investment arrangements between the US and Jamaica.
