Jamaica's debt to GDP projected to decline

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke says Jamaica's debt to GDP ratio is projected to decline to 90.2% at the end of this financial year.

This is down from 145% seven years ago.

During his budget debate presentation on Tuesday, Dr. Clarke highlighted that this was achieved without debt write-off or debt forgiveness.

The fiscal policy paper projects that Jamaica's debt will fall to 87.5% by the end of the 2020/21 fiscal year.
