In Friday's trading session, the JSE Index advanced by 1,785 points, to close at 161,502.
The Junior Market Index advanced by seven points to close at 2,215.
There was trading in 34 stocks, of which 21 advanced, 10 declined and three traded firm.
tTech Limited was the volume leader, followed by Scotia Group and Consolidated Bakeries.
