Labour Minister wants mandatory use of Labour Market Information System

Labour Minister Shahine Robinson, is to make a submission to Cabinet for the mandatory use of the Labour Market Information System (LMIS) to advertise all job vacancies in the public sector.

She says when all State entities use the system, the Government will be able to know all vacancies in the public sector. During her contribution to the Sectoral Debate on Tuesday, the Labour Minister said the Ministry is moving to position the LMIS as the National Portal for labour market intelligence and information for stakeholders who access the service.

Robinson says improvements to the LMIS have resulted in a 267 per cent increase in registered employers and a 278 per cent increase in job placements.
