Lime blames taxes for drop in revenue

Lime Jamaica has blamed the imposition of the Special Telecommunications Tax on international calls and lower fixed to mobile retail rates for the big drop in revenue for the year ended March 31.  Although mobile revenues increased by 14 per cent the company's overall earnings were down 7 per cent.

During the twelve months LIME earned J$19 billion versus J$20.4 billion during the corresponding period last year.

This resulted in the telecommunications company racking up a J$4.9 billion loss.
