Margaritaville, Grand Turk records profit of US$296-thousand

Margaritaville Grand Turk has released financials showing its profit for the three months to the end of August was US$296 thousand.

The outcome is 22 percent better than was earned in the same period last year.

Margaritaville Grand Turk recorded the improved showing as it saw increased ship calls and passenger counts at the cruise pier in Grand Turk.

The business depends almost exclusively on cruise ships for its sustenance.

Meanwhile, Margaritaville Grand Turk says it has established November 4 as the date when the port where its located will reopen.

The port has been closed since the passage of Hurricane Irma and Maria in September.

The company is expecting the lack of customers since then to affect its financials, but is banking on insurance to help offset some of the losses.
