MBJ Airports, operator of Sangster International Airport, has signed a US$40 million loan with The Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) Jamaica to finance its 2018 development plans.
MBJ Airports CEO Rafael Echevarne said the agreement will finance key infrastructure projects, including the renovation of the ticketing hall and the rehabilitation of the taxiways and apron.
The rehabilitation of the taxiways and apron began in 2017 and will be completed this year.
The project is being executed by Mandeville-based S&G Road Surfacing Materials.
Other infrastructure improvements to be implemented in 2018 include the replacement of air conditioning chiller units and an expansion of the airport's commercial space.
