More persons being trained for BPO sector

Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, says more persons are being trained for job opportunities in the business process outsourcing (BPO), sector.
He says the Government will make the necessary investments to ensure that there is the flow of  human resources to support the continued development and expansion of the industry.
The Prime Minister believes that the BPO industry, which directly employs 30,000 persons locally, has the potential to employ 10 times that amount with quality jobs.
He  pledged that the Government will be investing in the higher-order services to ensure that Jamaica continues to be an attractive destination for BPO services.
The Prime Minister was speaking yesterday at the official launch of  KPMG in Jamaica’s nearshore knowledge outsourcing facility at Harbour Street in downtown Kingston.
