Tourism Minister Wykeham McNeill: Arrival of Chinese in keeping with efforts to diversify Jamaica's tourism
Jamaica's north coast resort town of Ocho Rios on Wednesday received nearly one thousand Chinese cruise ship visitors.
The group represents the single largest number of Chinese visitors to vacation in Jamaica ever.
The visitors were brought on board the Costa Atlantica cruise ship, as part of China’s first around-the-world cruise.
Ocho Rios, which is a preferred destination for the Chinese, is one of 28 destinations in the 18 countries that will be visited by the group.
Tourism Minister Wykeham McNeil hailed the arrival of the group, saying it is in keeping with efforts by the country to diversify Jamaica's tourism.
China is the world's largest tourism source market.
