New chairman elected to the Stock Exchange

Senior Vice President at the Victoria Mutual Group, Allan Lewis, has been elected Chairman of  the Jamaica Stock Exchange, JSE. During a meeting of  the Board yesterday, Managing Director of  Barita Investments, Ian McNaughton was elected Deputy Chairman.

At the annual general meeting of  the JSE last month the previous Chairman, Donovan Perkins, indicated that he was stepping down from the post. Mr. Perkins remains a Director of  the Exchange.

In the meantime, General Manager of  the JSE, Marlene Street-Forrest, says several objectives have been set for the 2014/15 period and beyond. These include the continued rationalisation and control of  expenditure as well as collaborating with the Government and other entities to advance the Stock Exchange's global reach.
