Finance Minister Audley Shaw has mandated the new Board of the Students' Loan Bureau (SLB) to urgently address challenges facing the agency.
During a retreat on Monday, he told directors that there is need for improvement in the technological infrastructure to include the implementation of a user-friendly and efficient Loans Management System.
The SLB Board has also been directed to improve several areas of operation to enhance the delivery of service.
Shaw says adequate funds are being made available which will allow the SLB to satisfy the demand for student loans for the upcoming academic year with 98 per cent of applicants being approved.
