Jamaica's Ministry of Labour & Social Security is seeking to assure workers that they have no reason to fear discrimination under the Flexible Work Arrangement law.
According to Camille Bennett Campbell, acting Director of the Legal Services Unit in the Ministry, the Act can only be implemented at a place of business after negotiations between an employer and employee.
Mrs. Bennett-Campbell said if an employer tries to change a contract without the agreement of the worker, that is a breach of the Flexible Work Arrangements Act, and is actionable in court.
