"Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica" campaign gets $75m allocation

Daryl Vaz, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, says a recently announced $75 million allocation will go toward the Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica campaign.

It had been reported in the media that the money would be committed by the Government towards the implementation of a plastic bottle deposit scheme.

However, Mr. Vaz clarified the statement Tuesday morning, saying the money is earmarked for the Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica campaign.

Mr. Vaz, who has responsibility for the environment, noted that the Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica campaign would receive financial support of $25 million per year, over three years.
