Oil prices fall as OPEC press conference cancelled

Oil prices were down on Thursday, after a planned OPEC press conference on the group's deal failed to materialise. 
 
A briefing is now expected Friday morning.
 
Crude slipped as Saudi Arabia's energy minister backed a smaller-than-expected supply cut.
 
West Texas Intermediate for January delivery fell $2.16 at $50.73 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
