Petroleum (Downstream Activities) Act being modernised

The Petroleum (Downstream Activities) Act is being modernised to regulate the quality of fuel supplied in Jamaica.

The disclosure was made by Fitzroy Vidal, Principal Director in the Ministry of Energy, in a speech delivered on behalf of Energy Minister Fayval Williams, at the grand opening of the Texaco Mountain View service station in St. Andrew on Wednesday.

Mr. Vidal said the Act also seeks to reduce the level of pollutants and emissions arising from the use of petroleum and to ensure that petroleum products of the highest quality are available to consumers.
