Price of rice increased

Jamaica Rice Mills has revealed that it recently increased the price of rice on the local market.

Derrick Nembhard, the company's Managing Director, confirmed that the six per cent price hike took place in February.

News has also come that the prices of several other basic food items, including flour and chicken meat, are being reviewed, as producers respond to the continuing slide in the value of the Jamaican dollar, among other factors.
