Scotiabank defends retail, commercial business after decline in net profit

Audrey Tugwell Henry, Executive Vice President of Retail Banking at Scotiabank

Scotiabank is defending its retail and commercial business after recording a marginal decline in net profit before tax in that segment last year.

Audrey Tugwell Henry, Executive Vice President of Retail Banking, explained that the company will continue to increase volumes of loan growth to improve net profit.

Scotiabank says the company's improvements last year like new ATM'S and Scotia Alerts contributed to the decline in profit in the retail and commercial business segment.
