Spruce Up Jamaica 'Trash To Treasure' school competition launched

The Tourism Ministry has announced the launch of the Spruce Up Jamaica Trash To Treasure school competition.
 
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett will deliver the keynote address at  the launch slated for next Wednesday at the Lawrence Tavern Primary School in St. Andrew.
 
The programme targets primary school students and aims to increase environmental awareness and eco-tourism. 
 
The competition will involve 17 primary schools in West Rural St. Andrew, including Rock Hall Primary, Red Hills Primary, Padmore Primary, Allman Hill Primary and Essex Hall Primary.
 
The initiative forms part of the Ministry's Spruce Up Jamaica programme, which focuses on the improvement of the tourism product.
